Who are we?
Laurýn Tamar Minter de Porres (she/her/ella) is a political scientist from Rochester, New York. Laurýn earned a Ph.D. from the University of New Orleans. She also possesses a Master’s degree from Tulane University in Latin American Studies and a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science and Spanish from Fisk University. Laurýn works as a human centered design equity architect for a major public hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Miranda S. Jackson de Porres (she/her/hers) is an educator and student advocate, from Hammond, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Southern University A & M College (Baton Rouge, Louisiana). Additionally, Miranda earned a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge Campus) as well as a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Lamar University (Beaumont, Texas). Miranda is a licensed professional counselor (LPC-Texas). Miranda currently serves as a high school counselor in the Dallas, Texas metroplex.
